Edinburgh Airport Rail Link - concessionary travel permit - bus-to-bus interchanges - new M9 road link
Airport link before Parliament
The Private Bill that will enable the construction of the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link (EARL) has been introduced to the Scottish Parliament.
EARL will connect Edinburgh Airport with Scotland’s rail network and provide direct rail services between the airport and a wide range of towns and cities.
The Scottish Parliament will now consider the Bill which seeks powers to construct a new station at Edinburgh Airport as well as associated rail infrastructure.

The Scottish Executive’s new concessionary travel permit – pictured above – which allows Scotland-wide free bus travel for those aged 60 or over and those with disabilities begins this April.
JUST THE TICKET
Do you ever find it difficult to find the bus stop you need? It’s now easy with new bus-to-bus interchanges on the streets.
These interchanges are easy to spot, with their distinctive green colour, roof caps, and comprehensive information and map boards.
The first nine interchanges will be completed in April on Princes Street, Haymarket, Tollcross, Drum Brae, Elm Row, Portobello and Lady Road/Liberton Brae.
NEW M9 SPUR
A new link road between the M9 and the A90 at Queensferry begins construction this June and will open in February 2008.
The existing M9 spur will be extended to a new junction with the A90 near Dalmeny, providing a much-needed link between the A90 and the M8/M9 motorways.
