in this years Festival of Scottish writing

Crime and gaelic writing are the themes for this year’s Festival of Scottish writing from Friday 12 to Sunday 28 May across a dozen libraries in Edinburgh.

Highlights include Fragrant Delichts, in which Liz Lochead and Dundonian singer/songwriter Michael Marra take an offbeat look at Scottish culture.

Author of The Wicker Man, Robin Hardy, will be reading from his new novel Cowboys for Christ at Morningside library on 25 May.

Best selling children’s author Julia Donaldson, creator of the colourful Gruffalo, joins the Festival on 28 May.
