New paper and packaging points for tenements are rolled out across the city
NEW paper and packaging points for tenements are being rolled out across the city from mid-October.
More than 300 paper and packaging points currently dotted around the city are being well used by residents.
Leith and Portobello residents are next in line for the distinctive green and blue-lidded recycling points. They are being put in place to make it as easy for residents to recycle as to throw out their rubbish.

More than 40 sites, with about 100 recycling banks, will be introduced across these areas.
Residents on the streets surrounding the service will receive colourful postcards detailing the types of materials accepted in the recycling banks.
Materials that can be recycled in the green-lidded packaging points include cans, cardboard, cardboard drinks cartons envelopes and plastic bottles. Plastic bags and tubs cannot be recycled. Because these recycling points are sited on-street in residential areas, glass recycling is not provided.
Blue-lidded paper points accept most types of paper, including newspapers, magazines, unwanted mail and phone directories of all colours.
