Letwise to host series of events for landlords and people that rent

If you’re a landlord or a private tenant in Edinburgh, you’ll soon be given the opportunity to learn about your legal rights and get free advice from experienced property advisers.

Following the success of last year’s Responsible Renting Week, Letwise, part of the Council’s Private Housing Services is hosting a week of events from 13-17 November.

These are free events being promoted to around 10,000 landlords and more than 60,000 private tenants across the city.

Edinburgh Landlord Day
Tuesday 14 November, Assembly Rooms, George Street, noon – 8pm

This is the first day of its kind in Scotland, giving landlords the opportunity to learn more about the practical and legal aspects of managing properties and tenancies, and to meet and exchange experiences with other landlords.

There will also be a number of seminars led by prominent speakers and agencies offering advice and services.

This is a good opportunity for landlords and letting agents to learn about services available through the Council and the private sector designed to support Edinburgh’s private letting industry.

It’s also a great chance for local businesses to raise their profile with a large audience of landlords, letting agents and other organisations with an interest in Edinburgh’s property market.

Private Renting in Edinburgh
Thursday 16 November, Royal Lyceum Theatre, noon – 8pm

This is a day for people who either live in a private rented property or are looking for a property to let in the city. You can get advice from experienced advisers on a range of issues including finding a property, repairs, rents, deposits, benefits, as well as advice and support if you’re experiencing problems with your landlord.

  • Other events throughout the week are to be announced. Look out for information on our website and in local press.

For more information, or if you’re interested in exhibiting on either day, please contact Helen Darling on 0131 529 2260 or e-mail: helen.darling@edinburgh.gov.uk
