Council plans to rationalise offices comes to fruition
Welcome to the City of Edinburgh Council’s new city centre office!
In November, some of our services and staff started moving into our new flagship office in central Edinburgh – Waverley Court in East Market Street.
This is the high point of the Council’s plan to rationalise offices, giving us a much more efficient and less costly range of properties.

More than 1600 staff and many services will now be located in one building which will mean that we will be able to operate more effectively and provide more joined up services to you. Having fewer offices in the city centre means you can do more of your business in just one location rather than having to visit several different Council offices.
Over the next few months, some of our city centre offices are closing and the services provided in them moving to other locations.
The building is one of the most modern, innovative and sustainable buildings in Scotland,” said Tom Aitchison, the Council’s Chief Executive.
It has a number of sustainable and energy efficient design features such as solar panels, grass roofs to act as reservoirs for rainwater harvesting, low energy lighting controls/movement sensors and sustainable fittings and furniture.
Use the telephone numbers in the A to Z of Council Services (delivered to your home last Summer) to phone them. Alternatively, check our website on www.edinburgh.gov.uk or call 0131 200 2323.
