Just how the CityCarClub can save you money and hassles
The CityCarClub is growing more and more popular with Edinburgh residents every year, and now has 48 cars around the city in 36 locations.
Under the scheme, Edinburgh city residents pay an annual fee and then may rent cars for as little as £2.80 an hour and 17p a mile.

An added bonus is you’ll never have any trouble finding a parking space!
The cars are parked at designated parking bays all around the city and can be booked by club members at a moment’s notice without any paperwork.
One member, Ann Henderson, a parliamentary researcher from Newington, said: “I’ve been a member of the club for nearly three years and one of the best things about the scheme is that you don’t have to worry about unexpected maintenance costs or insurance premiums.
“It makes it much easier to work to a budget, because you know how much you are going to spend.
“My monthly bill is between £14 and £40, which is hardly expensive, and that gives me as much access to a car as I need.”
The CityCarClub system is very simple to use. You book the car on the Internet or by phone, or even at the car. Open the doors with your personal smart card, enter your PIN number and then drive away.
When you have finished with the car you bring it back to its designated parking bay, lock the doors, and that’s it.
