Your leader of the council

The Leader of the Council is the political head of the Council, while the Lord Provost is the civic head and Lord Lieutenant.

The Leader is elected by the members of the majority party.

The current leader of the Council is Councillor Jenny Dawe, Liberal Democrats.

Your local councillors

The 58 councillors who form the City of Edinburgh Council meet regularly to decide how Council services will be provided. Most councillors hold surgeries to find out their ward residents’ views and help them with any problems relating to Council services.

In Edinburgh there are 17 wards with seven of the new wards having four councillors and ten wards having three each. Turn the page for a full list of councillors.
