The £7 million state-of-the-art dance facility with four studios offers in excess of 120 classes in more than 40 different styles for all ages at every level from complete beginner to professional dancers.
From 29 October to 4 November, Dance Base and Filmhouse are joining forces to present Scotland’s inaugural Dance: Film festival. Enjoy classic dance films such as On the Town and Dirty Dancing at Filmhouse and then learn the dances at weekend workshops at Dance Base. |
Dancing is great exercise and also lots of fun. You can burn up to 400 calories an hour in a salsa or jive class, so it’s easy to get fit while also learning a new skill.
Joining a class is also a good way to improve confidence, meet new people or even to just brush up your skills in time for a special occasion.
Autumn term runs from 17 September to 8 December – join a term-time class for 12 weeks and progress each week in your chosen style or just drop in to one of 40 pay-on-the-day classes from as little as £5 per hour.
All classes are taught by professional teachers in every style from ballet and tap through to East Tanzanian, Burlesque and even Hula Hooping!
Children can dance too from just one year old – Twitchy Feet is for toddlers and their parents who want to dance together and have fun.
From age five upwards, children can come without their parents and learn break-dancing, the latest pop dance routines or even develop their own superhero character in the X Kidz class.
All children’s classes are non-competitive, so with no exams in sight, it’s all about having fun and keeping fit.
