Stockbridge Library reopens after £400,000 investment

Stockbridge Library reopened on 31 July after a £400,000 investment and six-month refurbishment.

The library now has new furniture, including a completely refurbished children's area, as well as improved shelving, new books and computers.

The refurbishment maintains the historic and architectural features of the building, while also ensuring the library is fully accessible and provides modern facilities.

The library now offers:

  • a relaxed reading area
  • improved community room
  • fully accessible public toilets
  • 4,000 new items including books, DVDs and CDs
  • a new learning centre
  • new children's, teenage and under-fives' sections
  • new computers with free internet access
  • upgraded heating and lighting systems
  • a gallery with coffee facilities.
