It’s a must do
Listed as one of the top 100 things to do before you die, Edinburgh’s annual Hogmanay celebrations are renowned throughout the world as being one of the biggest and best parties on Earth.
The party gets into full swing on 31 December as the length and breadth of Princes Street and Princes Street Gardens come alive with festivities, and an expected 100,000 revellers gather to bring in 2009 in style.
Imagine one of the world’s biggest street parties framed by the brilliant backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, while awesome rock and pop concerts go live across multiple stages and glitter against the fairytale skyline of Scotland’s capital city.
And with candle-lit concerts and the traditional Scottish Glayva Ceilidh in the Gardens,
Edinburgh’s Hogmanay makes for a truly breathtaking evening.
Paolo Nutini will kick-start the Concert in the Gardens, followed by the celebrated British big beat duo Groove Armada. The band’s electric mix of music, light, fireworks and atmosphere will be the stage spectacle of the year.
