Happy to translate

In brief

For more than ten years, the Interpretation and Translation Service (ITS) has been helping people who speak or read little or no English (or who use a non-verbal language) to access Council and NHS Lothianservices.

ITS provide interpreters to help with health, safety and protection issues. They can translate any language you use.

They also can translate Council or NHS material into your native language. Other formats such as Braille and large print can be provided.

ITS has been involved in a new national pilot – Happy to Translate – making it easier for people to access translation services.

Look out for the Happy to Translate logo in our publications. It means we are able to translate the information into your language or provide an interpreter to explain the information to you.
