The safe way to get home this Christmas
Lothian Buses’ night buses are a terrific way to get home safely this holiday season.

For £2.50 per journey – or £1.50 if you have a ridacard – it’s great value. Buses run at least every hour from the Waverley Steps at the east end of Princes Street with some buses departing every 10 minutes at weekends.
The buses run through the night, every night, in and around Edinburgh.
Night buses follow many of the same routes as their daytime counterparts.
There are now more than 300 real-time BusTracker signs, showing when the next buses will arrive, on Edinburgh streets.
There are also displays within Ocean Terminal, Cameron Toll, the Scottish Government and Straiton Park and Ride. Our most recent 40 signs link Portobello to the city centre.
Our roll-out of signs across the city will continue, with signs at key bus stops on less frequent bus routes up next.
Don’t forget, you can now find out when your next bus is due online or with your mobile. Every day, about 3,000 people online and 300 people using mobile phones check BusTracker to make sure they don’t miss the next bus!
