Putting YOUR needs first
When you said your top priorities were clean and improved city streets, a safe neighbourhood and support for your local shopping area, your Neighbourhood Partnership responded.
For example, your Neighbourhood Partnership is influencing where the money goes for improvements to local roads, based on what you say.
And we want to hear more from people who live, study, work and do business in the area.
Your Partnership is made up of community councils, the Police, councillors, voluntary sector, university students and NHS Lothian – supported by the full range of Council services – to make sure services are designed specifically to respond to your concerns.
Services are no longer ‘one size fits all’ and are being much more tailored to local needs.
A Community Plan has been drawn up in your neighbourhood to concentrate on service improvements that will make the biggest difference.
By sharing information and working together, all organisations can play a part. Local grants are available for activities that support local priorities.
Your input is vital to help keep services on track and working for a better community.
That’s why there has been extensive consultation over the past few months with city centre residents, workers, students and visitors who have been asked for the first time what they would like to see happening in the city centre.
