Tell us a bit about yourself...

I have been neighbourhood manager for East since May 2007 when Services for Communities set up the Neighbourhood Teams.

 Tell us a bit about your job...

I’m responsible for about 140 staff providing a range of services to people living in the area including street cleaning, maintaining parks and green spaces, local roads maintenance, community safety, managing council houses in the area and delivering the local library service.

The other important aspect of my job is developing and supporting the local partnerships, making sure we are using all of our resources in the best possible way to meet local needs!

What’s your biggest challenge?

The area is diverse including a major regeneration area in Craigmillar, busy town centre and beach front in Portobello. We also have three libraries.

The team is committed to the communities we serve, making an effective and dynamic forum bringing real improvements to local people.
