Super stars!

The 9th Annual Standard Life Achievement Award winners have just been announced… and yet again excellence and success have been recognised and commended in all aspects of the Council’s Children and Families department.

In East Edinburgh:

• Portobello High School’s Health Promoting School project was the winner in the Quality of Life category.
• The school developed a wide range of health activities with a view to achieving a happy and healthy school.
• In the Creative Approaches category, Niddrie Mill Primary School was highly commended for the P5 Enterprise Project, where Primary 5 pupils took responsibility for planning, preparing and delivering a challenging and motivational sports day for nursery pupils.
• Congratulations goes to Visiting Teaching Support Services who took the Director’s Award for their innovative project Effectively Supporting Pupils with Down’s syndrome in the Mainstream School.
