It's a Xmas wrap!
What do you want for Christmas in North Edinburgh?
You told us that you want more local news and that’s exactly what you are getting in this special wraparound edition targeted at where you live!
North Neighbourhood has been given £43,000 worth of festive cheer from the Youth Matrix Fund. Watch out for new youth activities in the New Year!
And, of course, a safe community during the festive season is number one on everyone’s wish list.
Neighbourhood environment manager Steven Cuthill keeps the 260km of roads in North Edinburgh running smoothly.
“We’ll be making sure the roads are well gritted to help keep motorists safe,” said Steven. “Street lighting is also important and you can make sure broken lights are replaced promptly by reporting them to Clarence on 0800 23 23 23.”
Lothian and Borders Police is a key partner, never more so than this time of year. Community Safety Officers work closely with the Police, keeping our younger revellers safe.
This year, we’re asking people to think very carefully and know the law before buying any kind of motorbike as a Christmas present for youngsters as, every year, many are hurt in accidents.
These are just a few examples of the people working together to keep your area safe and well during the holiday season.
