We spent an afternoon at the North Neighbourhood Office finding out what services you use, what you think of the customer service, what could be improved and what you think the big issues are in the community.

Denise Dickson, Inverleith Row

Denise had a problem with an incorrect Council Tax notice. She had trouble sorting the problem out elsewhere, but said of the North office: “They sort it out and answer my questions.”

Denise felt the Council could improve the process of statutory notice work, as she had experienced delays and problems with the quality of work of contractors.

 

James Hobbs, Pilton Park

“I don’t use the office very often,” said James, “but it’s handy for paying Council Tax.” He’s also happy to see “improvements being made at Pilton Park”.

 

 

 

Chris Barron, Leith

Chris was in the office with a housing enquiry. “It’s quite quick with any problem you come in with,” he said. “That was me in and out in just five minutes.”

 

 

 

Catherine Farish, Birnies Court

Catherine was paying some bills and said of the neighbourhood office: “It’s useful. I don’t use it that much, but any time I have a problem they can usually solve it.”

In her area Catherine’s most concerned about “safety in the streets – there are lots of young ones out making a lot of noise”.

 

 

All comments have been fed back to the neighbourhood manager.
