It's a Xmas wrap!
What do you want for Christmas in South Edinburgh?
You told us that you want more local news and that’s exactly what you are getting in this special wraparound edition targeted at where you live.
And, of course, a safe community during the festive season is number one on everyone’s wish list.
In South Edinburgh there are coordinated plans in place to keep the whole community safe and happy:
- A high visibility Police and Community Safety presence in areas prone to antisocial behaviour.
- The South Edinburgh Tasking and Co-ordinating (TAC) group will step up its highly successful operation to combat underage alcohol consumption and proxy buying.
- Local Community Safety officers, working with Lothian & Borders Police and Lothian & Borders Fire & Rescue Service, will promote personal and household safety over the festive season. Advice on dealing with antisocial neighbours, fire safety and crime prevention and personal safety tips will be on offer at the Cameron Toll shopping centre in South Edinburgh. Feel free to pop along and get help and advice.
- Over the four-week festive period the Police will tackle antisocial behaviour, violence and disorder, in particular in relation to licensed and other retail premises. This will be carried out in line with the national Safer Scotland campaign and in partnership with South Edinburgh’s Community Safety Team, Community Safety Concierges Environmental Wardens and the Environmental Task Force.
These are just a few examples of the people working together to keep your area safe and well during the holiday season.
