Putting YOUR needs first
You told us what you wanted to see improved in YOUR area!
When you said that your top five priorities in your local area were clean streets, activities for young people, action against antisocial behaviour, better pavements, roads and better public transport, the Neighbourhood Partnerships responded.
For example, your Neighbourhood Partnerships are now influencing the spend on environmental projects in your area, based on what you say.
And they want to hear more from people who live, work and do business in the area.
Your Partnerships are made up of community councils, the Police, councillors, community representatives and NHS Lothian – supported by the full range of Council services – to make sure services are designed specifically to respond to your concerns.
Services are no longer ‘one size fits all’ and are being much more tailored to local needs.
A Community Plan is being drawn up in your neighbourhood to concentrate on service improvements that will make the biggest difference.
By sharing information and working together, all organisations can play a part. Local grants are available for activities that support local priorities.
Your input is vital to help keep services on track and working for a better community.
That’s why nearly 5,000 face-to-face surveys and another 2,000 people were interviewed at local offices over the past few months to check that services are getting better in the ways that you want them to.
