Face to face with…Graham Kitching

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I’m 51 and was appointed to the post of neighbourhood manager in May 2007. I was formerly a housing manager responsible for delivering a wide range of housing services within central Edinburgh.

I’ve taken on various voluntary work roles and been a community councillor serving Midlothian Council for more than ten years.

Tell us a bit about your job…

Council services are increasingly managed and delivered at a neighbourhood level and one of my main priorities is to provide opportunities for local people to access and shape future service delivery that targets local priorities.

Tell us about South West Edinburgh – what’s the biggest challenge the area poses?

One of the biggest challenges is to both improve service delivery and build in efficiencies to increase provision and ensure qualitative standards are maintained.
