We spent an afternoon at the South West Neighbourhood Office finding out what services you use, what you think of the customer service, what could be improved and what you think the big issues are in the community.
Lee Eilbeck, Colinton
Lee uses the office to pay her Council Tax and also requested help with gardening. “Someone told me recently that, after a certain age, you can get help.” Lee is now on a waiting list for assistance. She’d like to see garden bins picked up more frequently.
Barry Duncan, Hailesland Park
Barry pays his rent and Council Tax at the office, and finds it “very useful and very handy. I’m in and out in two seconds.”He said the policy of potentially evicting tenants who are late paying for heating is too harsh.
Pauline Ross, Murrayburn Grove
Pauline was requesting repairs to her Council flat and talked to a community support officer about problems around her block. She said service at the office is fine, “if I can find the time to get here”. She suggests the office should be open until 6pm, even if it was just for payments.
KA Burns, Murrayburn Grove
Mr Burns uses the office to pay rent, Council Tax and to request property repairs. He said the office “is easy – you just drop in”. He’d like to see “repairs taken care of a lot quicker”. He’d also like to see the rubbish around bins cleaned up.
All comments have been fed back to the neighbourhood manager.
