The 9th Annual Standard Life Achievement Award winners have just been announced and, yet again, excellence and success have been recognised and commended in all aspects of the Council’s Children and Families department.
In West Edinburgh:
St Augustine’s RC Primary School won the Creative Approaches category for Auggies Olympics 2008. Pupils acted out their own Olympic games complete with opening and closing ceremonies.
Davidson’s Main Primary School and EAL service were highly commended for their Living race Equality Policy. In this project a P7 class were introduced to race equality issues through a six-week course.
Talking over Parenting Solutions (TOPS) at the Queensferry Early Years Centre was highly commended for the Partnerships in Practice category.
The project aims to improve the health and wellbeing of parents and young children by using a community development approach to provide a programme of positive parenting interventions.
