New secondry schools
Broughton High
The first of six new PPP2 secondary schools in Edinburgh, Broughton High, opened its doors in February.
The new school building includes the City of Edinburgh Music School and provides a unique opportunity for further integration of the school and local communities.
The Assembly Hall and Theatre will accommodate in excess of 350 and 220 people respectively in a flexible format. The adjacent dining and circulation area will help create a more relaxed atmosphere during performances.
Juniper Green primary
The second new PPP primary school also opened in March. For the first time, nursery and primary pupils at Juniper Green are now housed under one roof in purpose-built classrooms.
A special feature wall has been created at the main entrance which maps the nearby Water of Leith cast into the stone.
