Bonaly Primary pupil Aoife Forbes, 11, became the first ever winner of the Green Pencil Awards, a new creative writing competition for Edinburgh’s primary school children.

Pupils at Woodlands School in Currie have won a £500 special recognition award from the British Toy & Hobby Association.

THE South West’s first Week of Action was held at the Calders Estate between 23 February and 1 March.
The Council and Regional Park Services have recently resurfaced Threipmuir car park to smooth out the pot holes.
Sighthill Library recently participated in commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day 2009 with a series of events aimed at children and young people.

A GROUP of young mums from Moredun has launched a new website to offer advice and share personal stories on coping with teenage pregnancy.
When thieves broke into Moredun Library the first thing they went for was Libraries 4 U – an area for young people, filled with DVDs, music and game consoles.
