Success in making our streets cleaner

In your neighbourhood, 93 per cent of the streets are clean, as measured in the latest CIMS (Cleanliness Index Monitoring Survey) in December 2008.

The South West Neighbourhood is concentrating on tackling hotspots via additional barrow beats.

One team is concentrating on fly-tipping, dumping and rapid responses.

We are also leasing a mini-compaction vehicle which will uplift litter bins and dumped bulk items, freeing up staff to concentrate on other litter problem areas.

But we still need the public’s help to make it to 100 per cent.

Please bin all your rubbish – including cigarette ends!

If you spot something in your neighbourhood which needs to be fixed, please let us know, either on 0131 527 3800 or by e-mail at southwestteam@ edinburgh.gov.uk

In April, we are supporting National Spring Clean 2009, so if you want to help, please register with Keep Scotland Beautiful first and we will provide all the local support.
