The adventure starts right here
The Summer Reading Challenge is back at Edinburgh’s libraries, following on from the success of Team Read 2008.
This year, kids can take part for free in the exciting Quest Seekers challenge to find a legendary golden book.
The adventure starts in your local library where the Quest Seekers meet Cadmus the gatekeeper. Participants are then challenged to read six books, collecting stickers along the way.
Readers who complete the quest will be rewarded with a magical pen, a certificate and a gold medal.
They will also be entered into a big prize draw with a chance to win some fabulous prizes, from Deep Sea World, Our Dynamic Earth, Leith Waterworld, Camera Obscura, Blackwell Books, Edinburgh Evening News and Edinburgh Wolves.
The UK-wide free programme encourages young people to read over the summer and has been proven to improve children’s confidence and their love of reading.
All this and much more, including activities, stories and special events, will be taking place in Edinburgh’s libraries throughout the summer holidays.
