Cash boost for Rainbow Club
In brief.
A funding boost from the Council to Drylaw Rainbow Club will almost double the annual cash award to the service.
As part of the city’s planned expansion of day care services, the centre will receive more than £61,000 a year on top of its current annual allocation of £65,000.
This will allow the centre to increase the number of places it offers from 50 to 75, take on two new staff members, allow users to stay for a longer day and boost staff training.
Ina Walker, 90, is the club’s longest service user. She said: “The Rainbow Club is a wonderful part of my life.”
