Leith gets a look
More than 74,000 residents and visitors to Edinburgh flooded through the door of a life sized mock-up of an Edinburgh tram during its seven-week display outside Jenners on Princes Street.
Public interest in the display, which closed on Princes Street on 9 April was huge.
Due to popular demand, the mock-up was relocated to Constitution Steeet in Leith at the end of April. By the end of the first week, about 3,000 people had jumped on board the mock-up.
Staff working on the mock-up reported that the majority of people were positive about the project and interested to find out more about the city’s future new environmentally friendly, fast and efficient transportation system.
