Your neighbourhood, your priorities

Neighbourhood Partnerships are here to identify, plan and prioritise services that can benefit you and your community as a whole

Working effectively with local people is vital to the development of neighbourhood planning and it is only by listening to you that the partnership can find solutions which will make a lasting difference.

This is a change in the way that public services are planned and developed and provides a real opportunity to make things better.

The City Centre Neighbourhood Partnership has developed a local community plan based on priorities you have told us in consultation. These are:

1. Improving the cleaning of our streets and public areas – we plan to deliver a reduction in the amount of illegal fly-posting, graffiti and improved street and public realm cleanliness.

2. Protecting, supporting and promoting our small retail areas – by creating a clean, safe and attractive shopping experience and increased accessibility for all ages and capabilities.

3. Improving our pavements, roads and drainage – we will reduce the amount of street clutter on our city centre streets. Improve the quality of our streets, pavements and public realm, reduce the level of antisocial noise.

4. Improving our community safety through more visible forms of policing – we want to see a continued reduction in the amount of reported crime in the city centre, improve joint working in policing the city centre at night, and reduce antisocial behaviour of people under influence of drugs and alcohol.

5. Our city centre remaining a living city centre – we will increase satisfaction with the city centre as a place to live, increase the amount of well managed open space available, and ensure that all residents have access to a full range of services.
