Your best move yet

Ever imagined yourself gliding across the room like a Strictly Come Dancing star or rocking out like Justin Timberlake?

Or maybe you want to find a novel way to get fit over the summer?

There are a huge number of drop-in classes at Dance Base, a registered charity that encourages and celebrates the potential for dance in everyone.

It provides classes and workshops for the community, master-classes and residencies for professional dancers and an extensive programme of outreach work, taking place in a £7 million purpose-built studio in the Grassmarket.

A wide range of drop-in classes are available for all ages and levels over the summer months, from creative dance and play for under fives, hip hop and breakdance for five to 16-year-olds and tailored classes for mature movers.

Drop-in classes are perfect for anyone who wants to try a dance style without committing to a whole term and you can join in at any point during the term.

Why not try ballet, hip-hop, yoga, hula-hoop, vaudeville or line dancing? Explore the dance styles of exotic locales with belly dancing, Bollywood, flamenco, tango and even cheerleading.

Look out for special events taking place throughout the year.
