Mike honoured with Green Award
Recognition for local man
Currie resident Mike Ferrigan has been recognised at the inaugural Scottish Green Awards.
Mike has worked tirelessly for the past 25 years and picked up his award for Best Scottish Green Campaigner at the event in October.
Held at the Glasgow Science Centre, the Scottish Green Awards recognised individuals, companies, community groups, schools and hospitals which have done exceptional work to go green.
Mike was nominated by chair of Currie Community High School Parent Council, Carolyn Girvan, who said: “Mike has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about climate change in Currie, Balerno and Juniper Green and to get funding for the group. The City of Edinburgh Neighbourhood Partnership scheme provided the Piper project with funding and this was followed by more funding from the Climate Challenge Fund, which has made a huge difference to our campaign.”
