Target is achieved
Garden waste recycling goes from strength to strength
With your help, we recycled more than 25,000 tonnes of garden waste last year which helped us achieve our recycling target of 30 per cent.
Doing this saves natural resources and means less waste goes to landfill sites.
The latest garden waste calendar for 2009/10, which gives the new collection dates for homes taking part, has now been posted out to you.
After it is collected, your garden waste is turned into compost and used as a soil improver in parks and by community groups across Edinburgh.
You can also buy this compost at a very reasonable cost.
People who live in areas where we do not yet have a garden waste kerbside collection can still compost their garden waste at one of our four Community Recycling Centres (CRCs).
