Curriculum for Excellence is fast becoming a term that everyone in Edinburgh should be familiar with.

Throughout the next four years, it will be fully implemented in all education establishments across our city. 

The aim of Curriculum for Excellence is to transform the way we educate our children and young people, giving them a more flexible and creative environment to work in.

Parents are key to the success of Curriculum for Excellence.

In September, we hosted Edinburgh’s first conference for parents on the subject. We explained the concept to parent representatives and discussed their points of view on the matter.

We discussed how Curriculum for Excellence would not only help our children thrive, but also how the policy will contribute to the future economic success of Scotland’s citizens.

The feedback from the parent conference was overwhelmingly positive.

Our parent representatives left with an understanding of Curriculum for Excellence and a clearer idea of the journey ahead.
