Tram route will cut journey times

The tram route runs from Newhaven right to the airport terminal – a total of 18km in total for this particular phase.

The trams will run on-road east of Haymarket Station through to Newhaven, mainly in the centre of the road and will share some road space with cars and buses.

To the west of Haymarket Station, the trams will travel off-road.

There will be a total of 22 stops along the route.

The journey between the city centre and the airport will take 20 minutes.

It will take 45 minutes to travel between Newhaven and the airport (the full length of the route).
