Packed programme of family events for Christmas

Music is back at the Usher Hall and we have a joyous mix of events suitable for all the family this Christmas. 

From classical music to carol concerts to get you in the Yuletide mood, join us and celebrate in style.

Popular Yorkshire soprano Lesley Garrett brings a bit of pre-Christmas sparkle with a gala evening of carols and opera to kick off the season. 

And there’s a whole host of musical events to follow, including Raymond Gubbay Christmas shows to the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s version of The Snowman. 

On 16 December, Scots star violinist Nicola Benedetti will perform with organist John Kitchen, the Thistle Brass Ensemble and George Watson's College Junior Choir in a charitable event in aid of CLIC Sargent Scotland (Cancer Care for Children).

 If you’re a fan of the Rat Pack then come and enjoy the coolest festive party – the critically acclaimed Rat Pack Christmas Special is sure to be a cracker.

Bill Bailey joins us, too, with his Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra show.

Following on from sell-out shows at the Royal Albert Hall and the critically acclaimed version on BBC2, Bailey’s surreal comic and musical imagination is let loose once more as he takes this show on the road, performing with some of the finest orchestras throughout Britain, and accompanied by Anne Dudley, one of the UK’s most celebrated composers and arrangers.
