Do you take part in the Christmas and New Year festivities, or do you think it's just for tourists?

I used to always go to the Night Afore, but it’s got too busy and, while it’s good the first few times, it’s quite samey. I enjoy the Christmas markets though.

The events are marvellous, most people take part at some stage and the ice-rink is always popular.

I definitely take part and I like the German market in particular. It brings in tourists for the city, but Edinburgh residents can enjoy it too.

I like to bring along visitors and my grandchildren and I like the market and the general festive atmosphere. Although I do think the Christmas decorations go up a bit too early.
