Christmas events in North Edinburgh
Christmas Lights:
These events are not just for the city centre...
- Leith Christmas Lights are switched on Thursday 3 December at 4.45pm.
- Newhaven Christmas Lights go on Monday 7 December, 6pm at Newhaven School.
Royal Botanic Garden, Inverleith Row:
There are a number of Green Christmas events at the Botanics for all the family, where you can also create your own festive gifts.
Talking Trees is a winter storytelling event on 4, 11, 13 and 20 December at 2pm.
At Trees on 5 and 6 December, learn all about Christmas trees, and make a Celtic Christmas tree calendar pendant.
Learn about the ginger plant at Christmas Spice, 19 and 20 December, 1pm-4pm.
Botanical Art for the Festive Season, Saturday 12 December, 1pm-4pm.
Finally, recycle your Christmas wrapping paper by creating a tropical bird at Art-tastic, Birds of Paradise, 3 January at 1pm. www.rbge.org.uk
Edinburgh Christmas Walk:
On Sunday 6 December, up to 1,000 people are expected to take part in this year’s Edinburgh Christmas Walk starting at 11am in Inverleith Park. The 6 km route goes along the Water of Leith, through Stockbridge and past the new John Hope Gateway entrance to the Royal Botanic Garden.

Edinburgh Christmas Fun Run:
If you want something more challenging, join this 5km fun run at 9.30am, starting at Inverleith Park.
Edinburgh Golden Tinsel Mile:
An event for the very young, the elderly and the disabled who feel they cannot manage the full six mile walk. It starts at 11.30am from Inverleith Park.

Brittania is hosting a Christmas Weekend on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, 10am-3pm. www.royalyachtbritannia.co.uk

There is a Craft and Producer Fair at Ocean Terminal on Sunday 13 December, 11am-4.30pm.
And you can buy original art work, books and accessories while supporting local artists at Out of the Blue Drill Hall, 30-36 Dalmeny Street, Leith, Edinburgh, 5 December, 12-6pm.
