We asked, is there enough for young people to do in the area? Do you enjoy the events in the city centre over Christmas or is it just for tourists?
Jane Seaton, housewife
You need to pay for extra clubs for young people to go to, but we have a park close by so they can get a football and have a play in the park. We will go in and see what’s on at Princes Street Gardens and see the shows.
Donna McGrail, IT systems analyst
It’s difficult with the weather, but it’s nice for them to do more outdoor activities. Sometimes I go into the city centre but it depends on the weather. The kids still enjoy going to it.
Joanne Landon, church worker
I don’t think it’s up to the community – parents should find things for their children to do. I do go to the Usher Hall – I like their Christmas concerts.

There should be more stuff for people between 16 and 18 instead of younger children, because it’s the older ones who are hanging around drinking. I don’t really go to any of the Christmas events. It’s more for tourists.
