Christmas Lights:
It’s not just the city centre where the lights go on at Christmas...there are a number of switch-on ceremonies in the south side.
- St Patrick’s Square, Tuesday 1 December, 6pm.
- Prestonfield Avenue and Prestonfield Terrace, Wednesday 2 December, 6pm.
- Lauriston Place/Tollcross, Thursday 3 December.
- Marchmont Crescent & Warrender Park Road, Saturday 5 December, 4.30pm.
- Morningside Christmas Lights, Monday 7 December, 7pm.
Pantomime at the King’s Theatre:
The show this year is Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates. The run begins on 28 November and goes on until 17 January.

Cadenza at Christmas:
An annual feast of festive music with traditional, contemporary and fun carols. It’s on at Polwarth Parish Church, Polwarth Terrace, Saturday 12 December, 7.30pm.
Cadenza and the Mozart Festival Orchestra are also playing at Carols by Candlelight at the Usher Hall on Wednesday 23 December at 7.30pm. www.usherhall.co.uk
