Work starts on new care home
60-bed facility due to open at Kings Inch in spring 2011
A new care home, being built on the former site of the Kings Inch Special School, is due to open in spring 2011.
The 60-bed Kings Inch Care Home is the fourth to be built by the Council as part of Edinburgh’s ‘Live Well in Later Life’ strategy, allowing older people to enjoy a better quality of life.
The home will be subdivided into smaller group living units of 15 bedrooms with en-suites, each with their own sitting and dining areas.
It marks the phased replacement of older-style Council care homes which now need to be upgraded.
