A Green Flag after 11 years

Easter Craiglockhart Hill 'delighted' to receive award

Easter Craiglockhart Hill hoisted its first Green Flag at a ceremony in October, attended by children from Little Monkeys Nursery and Friends of Craiglockhart Woods and Nature Trail.

Easter Craiglockhart Hill received the accolade after the Council worked with the local ‘friends’ group and Edinburgh Napier University to preserve and improve the woods.

The local nature reserve is just one of five parks in the city which has achieved the Green Flag in 2009.

Hilda Henderson, secretary, Friends of Craiglockhart Woods and Nature Trail, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to have received this award. The group, along with the Council and local community, has been working for the past 11 years to improve this area and protect urban wildlife. It’s great that this park is now being recognised in this way.”
