Junior Wardens
South Queensferry Primary pupils begin environmental project
Following the success of the first Junior Environmental Wardens scheme at Kirkliston Primary, a second project began at South Queensferry Primary in October.
The aim is to develop community pride in pupils and teach them the importance of environmental issues.
The primary 7 pupils are supervised at all times and provided with suitable clothing and equipment.
They are given a workbook which they are encouraged to work through after visits to the police station, fire station and the Environmental waste unit at Seafield.
“The project at Kirkliston Primary was a great success,” said community safety officer Jim Henderson.
“We hope that the scheme at South Queensferry will be as successful.”
