Christmas Lights:
It’s not just the city centre where the lights are switched on. There are several sparkling events in west Edinburgh.
Christmas in Queensferry on Thursday 3 December at 6pm. The family event includes live street entertainment, Christmas stalls, a Santa-led torchlight procession along the high street and the Christmas lights being switched on. www.christmasinqueensferry.org

Hopetoun House, Shore Road, Queensferry, EH30 9SL. Hopetoun’s Christmas Shopping Fair is on until 29 November from 10am-4.30pm.
Celebrating its 10th year, get your Christmas gifts early from the 60 stalls selling accessories and Scottish foodstuffs.
Family craft workshop on Saturday 12 December from 10.30am-12pm. £5 for adults and £3 for children. Spend a morning absorbed in the spirit of Christmas making decorations. Mince pies and music provided.

Fresh Green Christmas wreaths on Thursday 17 December from 10am-3.30pm. Make a huge natural Christmas wreath from greenery grown in the castle woodlands.
