Winners at the double
Two Standard Life Awards for St Augustine's
St Augustine’s High School was honoured with two Standard Life Edinburgh Achievement Awards at a ceremony hosted by Grant Stott in November.
The school was the winner in the Opportunities for All category for an anti-racism project for S3 pupils. Five S3 pupils attended an ELREC anti-racism conference and accepted the challenge of ‘making a difference’ to the school.
The girls scripted a play on the theme of anti-racism, which was performed to primary 7 classes on their Induction Days.
They then helped the younger pupils create their own anti-racist message in short dramatic scenes.
St Augustine’s student council were also winners in the Young Edinburgh Citizenship Award category for a project where pupils organised an awards ceremony to celebrate all that is good in the school community.
