Vigilance urged over trafficking
Leaflets offer advice on protecting vulnerable children
The issue of child trafficking is being tackled in Edinburgh through a new publicity campaign.
A series of leaflets offer advice on how to be alert to the practice and what to do if a person suspects child trafficking is taking place.
The Edinburgh Child Protection Committee is aiming to heighten awareness of this practice by also distributing the materials to frontline staff throughout Lothian and Borders Police, the Council and NHS Lothian.
While there has not been a great deal of this activity in Edinburgh, the Council has urged people to be vigilant to ensure that vulnerable children and young people are not put at risk and exploited.
