Have your say on the city's future
Report sets out vision for 2030
Edinburgh is a wonderful city with an outstanding environment and great quality of life. The Council wants it to remain one of Europe’s top cities in which to live, work, study and invest.
We aim to retain Edinburgh’s unique character, building on the values that have helped the city to succeed in the past, while developing ambitious ideas for the next generation of city making.
With this mind, our planning department has produced a new consultation document – Delivering Capital Growth – which explains how the Council is leading the next stage of Edinburgh’s renewal and growth.
It sets out our vision for Edinburgh in 2030 and our strategy for getting there. It also explains the positive steps we’re taking now to make it happen.
Future plans include the St James Quarter in the city centre, Scotland’s National Wheel at the Waterfront, a 6,000-seater arena in the west and a new Sick Kids hospital in the south east. And that’s just a taster.
We want to hear your views and ideas for the city’s future. Once we have consulted widely, we’ll produce a revised version of this report, as a blueprint for Edinburgh’s future development. Comments must be received by 25 June.
