Battle of the schools is on
Pupils challenged to recycle the most
Six primary schools are taking part in an inter-school challenge to see who can most improve recycling rates in their neighbourhood.
The recycling collected from the red and blue kerbside boxes in the area surrounding each school will be weighed and measured – and the school with the biggest percentage increase will be declared the winner.
The schools taking part are Castleview, Davidsons Mains, Kirkliston, Niddrie Mill, Queensferry and Stenhouse.
The winning school will walk away with a £300 cash prize for the school to spend, with a second prize of £200 and the third getting £100.
Pupils at each school will also get to enjoy a free environmentally aware arts and crafts workshop for taking part.
