Since April, the Council has stopped accepting cheques and standing orders as payment for Council tax. By paying by direct debit, you can spread your Council tax instalments across ten or 12 months.

And receiving your Council tax by direct debit means we can improve the service we provide.

Less time and money are spent processing cash and cheque payments, so there are more resources available for vital services.
