Blue Badge changes
Admin fee applies from 1 May
The Council has begun charging an administration fee of £20 (equivalent of £6.67 a year) for all Blue Badge applications.
Any new badges issued from 1 May or existing badges which are due to expire will incur the new charge.
Some time ago, the Scottish Government sanctioned councils to introduce a charge of up to £20 to cover the administration costs of processing Blue Badge applications.
Badge holders will continue to make savings through the exemption from on-street parking charges, and those who live in a Controlled Parking Zone can continue to be issued with a free residents’ parking permit.
