Events to honour troops and families on 26 June

On 26 June, cities across the UK will honour the men and women who make up the armed forces community.

From currently serving troops and their service families, to veterans and cadets, our streets will be full of relatives and wellwishers praising the work done by our brave men and women.

In Edinburgh, events for Armed Forces Day kick off at 12.30pm at the Castle Esplanade when veterans, cadets and serving personnel gather for the Armed Forces Day parade.

The parade will proceed down the High Street, following a route along Cockburn Street and ending in Mound Precinct.

The Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens will play host to a variety of events from 2pm.

These will include military music, Highland country dancing and children’s activities.

Armed Forces Day draws to a conclusion with a beating of the retreat at 4pm. Please come along and support our heroes.
